BLACKLANDS has won the Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger for Best Crime Novel of 2010.
The winner was announced at the CWA Award Ceremony on Friday 8th October 2010. With this award Belinda joins an elite list that includes Minette Walters, Ian Rankin and Val McDermid. She is also the first author since 1973 to win a Gold Dagger with a debut novel.
On being presented with the Dagger, Belinda said: “It was a thrill just to be shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger for my first novel, let alone to win. Blacklands is a small, simple book and I’m still stunned and delighted that it seems to have struck a chord with so many people.”
